So, yesterday I wake up feeling ill and also cannot see out of my left eye. It was like a weird, blurry double vision. That's not uncommon for me, but it will usually go away after an hour or two. Yesterday it never went away. I woke up at 3AM last night and it was still there. This morning it's better, but is STILL there. I'm trying to get in to see a doctor, but in the meantime...
I was looking up this vision thing on the internet yesterday. It led me to look into thyroid problems. Since I couldn't see very well (my left eye is my dominant eye), it was sort of difficult to put everything together but I think I may be on to something. I think I read read one thing that said GERD was common among people with either hypo or hyperthyroid (I don't remember which) Anxiety, hair loss, belching, lack of energy and motivation, anxiety, BM problems...all symptoms of a screwy thyroid. It was like a laundry list of my afflictions, but the problem was my symptoms do not fit neatly into the "hyper" and "hypo" thyroid categories.
Being down to one eye has made my other eye so tired I cannot read much more, but since there's no thyroid forum on this site, I thought I'd ask here:
Have you ever had thyroid problems? Did it take them a long time to diagnose it? Can a thyroid shift between the "hyper" and "hypo" condition, or is it pretty much just one or the other?
Again, I hope to see the doctor today and would like to practically force them to give a long hard look at this. I'd like to go in knowing what kinds of questions to ask, etc. I fully realize that other conditions could very easily explain all the symptoms I have, and honestly, I assume I've had thorough enough blood panels to detect a thyroid problem....but I don't know. I suppose it never hurts to ask.
