I went to the gastro doctor on Monday and he upped my Nexium RX to twice a day. I take the 40 mg and he told me it is important to take Nexium approximately one hour before you eat. For example, if you are only supposed to take it once a day you take it in the morning one hour before you eat breakfast. For myself, I take it in the morning one hour before I eat and then again one hour before dinner. He said the other PPIs like Prilosec or Protonix you can wait 30 minutes before you eat but with Nexium it is one hour. I hope this helps....
