Hi june,
Yes, many of us suffer from back aches along with the other symptoms of gerds. When I first started having problems, I was having terrible pain in the middle of my back, between my two shoulder blades...Once I started taking protonix, this has subsided alot. However, I do still sometimes suffer from pain near my left shoulder blade. It is not as often, but it still occurs at times. I am not sure what the cause is...people have suggested it may be gas, or a nerve. The last time I had teh pain, it was lasting near a week with no relief. I then took 2 tablets of Naproxen Sodium (220 mg each) out of desperation, and it really helped me, and the pain went away. Now, I do not know if that was just a coincidence or not, but its worth trying again if and when it occurs again. I also have had pain in my lower back near my kidneys at time.
I also get the lump in throat feeling, and tightning around my throat, and feeling like spasms that my esophagus is having.
I have had gerds for over 6 months now. All my symptoms have decreased alot, but they are not totally gone. It can be very scarey, and worrisome..and this causes even more anxiety and causes teh symptoms to get worse....Good luck to you, and when your anxiety gets bad, come on here and read some of the posts. It helps me alot when I see others having the same symptoms.
