My throat has been suffering sooo terribly from all this.  I have an awful amount of inflammation in my throat!!!!!!!!  It is debilitating.  the lump I have is constant!!  My reflux is terribly unmanageable.

ALL the ENTs I've tried do not help.  What are the ENTs supposed to do for LPR?  Do they sometimes stretch the throat?  Or is dilation just for the esophagus??

I am determined to get an ENT who knows something about GERD!!  Because none of the ones I've tried do!! :(  And I've gone to ones that are supposed to be "good." :(

I am a newbie here but have been suffering these symptoms for 1 1/2 months. I was going to an ENT when I first had the feeling like something was stuck in my throat. He is a very good doctor but it was a really bad allergy season in south GA and I also tested positive for allergies. I have went to three ENTs and two GIs. I have found out that most are herding people through without even listening to their symptoms. The first person to even diagnose me with GERD on the first visit was my cardiovascular doc. I stopped going to my first GI doc because they were unfamiliar with LPR. I go into tomorrow for my first endoscopy tomorrow with my new GI doc. I am a little nervous but hope for some results. At least, they told me to take 2 Nexiums a day. MY first GI, prescribed Priolosec and Nexium and said try each one to see what works just to get me out of her office. Right now, I have a good/experienced ENT and I am hoping my new GI can work together to get this straight. It is so frustrating. I have been suffering from these symptoms for a 1 1/2 but went to the Doctors 4 months ago with mild symptons. Keep me posted of status. Tim

Tim that description of yours ("herding people out") was perfect.  It's strange, because don't they want our money?  So why is it that they want to push us out and never see us again? 

I've been suffering for more than a year!!!!

It's actually good that at least you were given two different drugs to try from.  Because I only take prevacid and was treated like crap when I said that it wasn't working.  Do they realize how childish they are to blame us if the drug is not working??

Just out of curiosity, the GIs whom you've had no luck with, have you been referred to them (do people say that they are good)?

I'm going to try to get an appointment with and ENT who knows about laryngeal stenosis.  because this person seems to know about the lump feeling caused by GERD.
