I've been having heartburn after eating in the morning for two months. I had been drinking a lot in the past year and had raised liver test levels. My doctor thought the heartburn was related, that I may have Alcoholic hepatitis. I've abstained for two months now and my liver levels are improving, though not yet normal, but I still have the heartburn. Pretty much every morning, though not in the evening. I say every day though I have been taking Zantac for almost two months. I've stopped taking the Zantac every now and then and the heartburn is there. I had more stomach upset in the first few weeks of these symptoms. HPylori test was negative. My Doctor is setting up an appointment with a GI specialist for a scope, but I probably won't get an appointment for two months. Any insight on what may be going on would help. I've googled this topic a lot but there are so many possibilities. Has anyone had similar symptoms? The heartburn is the main symptom; stomach upset less so. Neither is painful, just annoying. There's also mild burping, sometimes more than others, and occasional minor regurgitation to the throat. Thanks.
