Liquid antacid question?

Does anyone know why one has such a horrid taste in their mouth in the morning after taking a liquid antacid with magnesium and whatever else is in it? It happens to me anytime I happen to have to take a swig. Not a pleasant taste. Maybe that is the norm when that is taken. Just curious. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I've been using liquid antacids for yrs, on top of taking ppi's. I usually use Maalox or a generic Antacid from the Dolloar Store. These antacids are all horrible tasting and I take a swig of water after each dose which also seems to help with them working faster. I've never exp the after taste in the AM, but one time I had a green tongue after using one of the Antacids. Needless to say, I discarded the bottle, as it read that green tongue could occur with using that brand. I believe my hubby picked this bottle up for me which I had obviously never used in the past. I can't remember the Brand or ingredients and hope I never use this one again.

Maybe try taking a swig of water or some other beverage after taking antacid to see if you still exp the morning after taste.
