Laxatives

In July I started taking laxatives becasue of constipation problems. I have been taking them on a regular basis and have become dependent on them. Has anyone ever had laxatives cause their heartburn.

Hey skooby...I haven't used laxatives on a regular basis, nor have I had an issue with heartburn due to laxatives. I have though read that overuse of laxatives may cause some issues, heartburn being one. I dont' think it's great to use laxatives regularly, and you might consider talking to your doctor about what is causing your constipation, and find a way to get off the laxatives completely. It isn't good to use regularly. You can find some information on this at webmd.com under digestive disorders, or put right in your search engine...CAN LAXATIVES CAUSE HEARTBURN.

Also, I urge you to talk to your doctor about the chronic constipation, because that could be a warning sign for something more serious going on in you...or it could be nothing but lack of nutrients...please, don't ignore this.
