Psoriasis on head

I had it along my hairline (a little on the scalp). I drove me nuts! I tried everything too but the only thing that worked was being placed on an immune suppressing drug.

Try a shampoo with oatmeal in it, it really soothes my psorasis on my body and scalp. It is also the same PH as your skin 5.5 so it helps make sure you dont get any nasties as a side affect of any broken skin.

My daughter friend was over and said she had bad case of psoriasis on her scalp so  and I broke open vitaimin E  capsules and rub the oil onto  her scalp and  told her wait a a hour or  two then wash it out of her hair with dish liquid.

 The girl mother call me about a week later and told me her scalp was totally clear up and thank me.

note :  This work for cradle cap also.

Hi Ibster, I too have it in my hair, first it started just in my hairline on my forehead, then it spread on out into my head in other areas. I will certainly give the Nutrogena shampoo a try and see if it will help me. I really appreciate you coming here and sharing what has helped you. I have some really bad plaques on my elbows and so far nothing has helped clearing them up. For the first time in 3 yrs my feet are cleared. It seems like if I get it cleared up in one place, it pops out somewhere else, a never ending battle.

Hi Eliztopp glad you popped over here. This is one condition that just keeps on surprising me to say the least. So Remicade is your culprit for your psoriasis, Remicade was the culprit for Lupus with me. I was on it for crohns for about 3 1/2 years. My gi switched me to Humira and said it would most likely do the same as the Remicade as far as the Lupus situation goes and he was right. I am seeing more people get psoriasis from Humira too. Can't win for losing it seems.

I have a pretty good flare up going on with my hands and they sure do smart. These small places where the skin has split really sting. I do not know of anything to suggest for your hair, sounds like you have pretty much done it all. Its been years since I have seen clear skin, what is that!!

Hi, I've popped over here from the Prostate Cancer forum.

I've had psoriasis on the scalp for over 20 years. When it first reared its ugly head the Doctors couldn't decide how to treat it. Was pretty bad initially and one Doc prescribed Salicylic Acid, which did work but horrible stuff to use!

Then someone recommended I try T-Gel shampoo and it works a treat. It's the only shampoo I use and the psoriasis has cleared right up.
