I have battled with psoriasis for a long long time. I have taken the tar creams, and oatmeal baths. I have tried cream after cream, it just doesn't seem fair does it? I try to follow the diets and eat the foods I should, avoid those I shouldn't. Is the sun still good, or should we be staying out of it now? It seems like no doctor is giving any of us any real direction. I go, as embarrassing as it is, to dermatologist after dermatologist, in and out in 5 minutes with a new cream. I can barely afford them anymore and they just don't seem to work, or work for long. It's heartbreaking, and I suffer in secrecy. Always hiding my skin, can wear shorts in the summer, can take my kids swimming, gosh I could go on and on, but I know you all understand.
All I can offer right now is I started taking Betaderm, it seemed to calm them at first then wham it all came back and maybe even worse than before.
For me its stress, that triggers it for me, but how do you not stress when you are covered in red spots. Argh!!!!
I am thankful to have found this forum, and I will share my good and bad news and hope something will work for us all. Stay strong.
