choosing to discontinue Humira for psoriasis

I just spoke to my dermatologist who said it was completely fine if I discontinued Humira. I dont like taking it and she seemed rather rude about it. I was on the humira for about 6 months. My psoriasis is gone for now but there are still the dark spots discoloration on my legs. I told her my period has not started, she said the humira has nothing to do with that. Just in case I made an appointment with a different dermatologist for a second opinion but this lady was rude and I dont want to ever see her again. Does anyone know more info about stopping humira??

Hi Lotus & welcome to the forum. I have a different situation than you. I have crohns disease & was on Remicade infusions & it kept my psoriasis in check. However, I developed antibodies to the Remicade & was switched to Humira. The Humira caused my psoriasis to go full bloom. I was in & out of the hospital with severe infections because of the psoriasis. It was a viscous cycle. I stopped the Humira & a very dear friend gave me some info on a product that I bought online. I managed to eventually get the psoriasis under control. The dermatologist that was taking care of me was absolutely useless. Not one dr ever connected this to the Humira.

There is a chance that your psoriasis comes right back since the Humira was keeping it under control. I have not heard of Humira interfering with periods.
