How long does it take for Humira to start working

Hello & welcome to Healing Well. What did the dr tell your son about this? I was on it for crohns disease. However, prior to Humira I was on Remicade. I did three injections at once as the loading dose. However, I do not know what the loading dose is for your son's situation. You may look on their website to see if there is something there about it.

Well, do not let my situation reference how your son will react to Humira. I was on it for 1 1/2 yrs & had to stop. It helped my crohns very well, however, it caused my psoriasis to go full bloom. I have several types of it. I had it severely on my hands & feet & other places. The problem was my feet would become so raw that they would become infected. I ended up with cellulitis on my legs & would have to be hospitalized to get the infection under control. It was a viscous cycle that kept repeating itself. Finally, I decided to stop Humira to see what would happen. After many months, I finally got it under control. I have lots & lots of issues with medications in general, always have. I do know that Humira can help. Because of this I have had to stop all bio's because of this situation. I had drug induced Lupus as a result of Remicade, same with Humira. Although these meds helped me, they also caused other issues that became too much for me to cope with.

Again, my situation is totally different than your son's. I think it will help him. Keep us posted.
