Dizzyness and acute painless tingling/electric shock type

Hi I'm 68 and suffer with quite bad spondylitis. My back pain is now much better than a week ago but I have started to get what can only be described as electric shock type tremors - totally painless and lasts from 1 to 2 seconds - in my feet and hands. At the same time I also feel this same electric thing in my head and feel lightheaded. Sometimes the sharp tingle's  along my tongue. It only happens when I move my head - as in looking to the right or left. All my spine recently has been very painful but a lot of that awful pain has gone now with stretches and ice-packs and diclofenic. But in it's place has come this horrible horrible tingly electric-shock thing and lightheadedness. It also feel like my brain "jumps"  once or a few times. All of this is totally painless and short-lived but it's frightening me a lot. Does anyone have any ideas? Nothing goes numb either. It happens every time when i turn my head. Thanks, Sarah

Could you have a pinched nerve? Nerve disruptions can causea zinging type pain, numbness, tingling, and/or burning. Who treats your spondylitis? Have you called him/her?

The problem in your hands could come from your upper spine. However, the foot problems could come from the lower back. Since you are having these zingers in both your hands and feet, then it might be an all over body issue. Since this has come on suddenly, you should really get into your doctor.

Thank you but I don't get any pain. This is what's been happening:

DAY I. SOMETIMES when I moved my head right and left I felt lightheaded/brain jumped for a SPLIT SECOND and got tongue tremors/tingling all along my tongue 

 DAY 2. Kept

moving my head to the right and left a lot (to test) and the lightheadedness and tongue tremors increased by the end of the day.

Day 3. Now I cant move my head even a bit without my brain jumping up down up down - sorry but that's how it feels when I move my head - I get the electric shock feeling along my head, go really light headed at the same time and tingles on tongue, hands and soles of feet. Painless but it's like a very mild electric current.

Does no-one at all identify with me? Feel I'm going crazy.

PS cervical spondylosis was diagnosed 15 years ago.

The only time I got that light headedness when I turned my head either direction was when they found I was Hyperthyroid. Maybe try getting your thyroid checked.

Then maybe its related to you being Hypothyroid. If it could affect me when Hyper maybe it does the same with Hypo. But I have never heard of it related to Osteo, maybe your AS???

I have tingling/burning in arms,hands legs & feet,but I have Neuropathy from Pernisious anemia,plus I am Hypothyroid too.........

Have you found out any more about your tingling.  I've asked several doctors and people as I have the same thing and no one can seem to "get it".  FRUSTRATING.  It makes it very hard to even clean my house.  I find it's a bit better if I remember to close my eyes before I turn my head, but that's not very convenient always (especially driving!).

PLEASE let me know if you've had any luck finding out what is causing this.  Thanks much.
