Hi.  I just joined today.  I am 43 years old and have been diagnosed with osteo.  I guess I feel like it is more than that, but I would rather it just be OA.  I have had a positive ANA titer in 2010 and 2011 at 1:80 speckled.  I have achy joints all over and on both sides periodically.  Achy elbow or knees or feet or neck or wrists.  I just had a kidney stone November 23 and was just told I have dry eye syndrome.  Also, a baker's cyst behind right knee.  I just remembered a rash on upper left leg that turns colors when I get out of hot shower or when it is exposed to the sun.  I have not mentioned it to rheumy.  Didn't think about it.

Welcome to Healing Well, Lilly! If you think you have more going on than osteoarthritis, then get a second opinion from a different rheumatologist. As to your positive ANA - some people have low positive ANA titers without having any disease process. It's just one of those things. That doesn't mean that your positive titer means nothing - did the rheumy do further tests for any of the antibodies seen when a person has lupus? If not, then that is an indication of a need for a second opinion. If you were tested and they were all negative, then it is more likely that you are just someone that has a low positive ANA titer. I would ask my doctor to periodically retest the titer to make sure nothing is brewing.

Sorry you are in so much pain. Have you tried either heat of ice for your joints when they ache. I LOVE my oversized heating pad!

I like the idea of an oversized heating pad. I will have to look for that.

This was my second opinion throng, but I don't think there was further testing.

I forgot about the rash I have had for over 10 years. It does turn color when in the sun and red after hot shower. She asked if I had any rashes and I said no. It is hardly noticeable on upper left leg. It is a little rough to touch

Who knows probably nothing

I noticed you have been posting in Parkinson's also, however, you do not have a dx.  Now may be the best time to see your Dr. re your sx and see if you can get a official dx. This will help trememdously with your treatment plan.

Hi OA sufferers. I have OA of my hips and more recently of my fingers which stick, click and then move...Has anybody tried Tart Cherry Capsules and did it help? I am 46 and not taking any specific meds other than Glucosamine.

Cherries will help in the prevention of build up of uric acid...cause of gout.
Try pure gelatin capsules to help in the build up of cartliage, too.
