shoulder replacment surgery!

Making a decision about whether or not to have shoulder replacement is a hard decision. I've had rotator cuff surgery because of a 'complete tear' -- and I can remember well how I tried to research, etc. about what might be the correct decision for my situation. I chose the surgery two years ago -- it was a long and challenging road to recovery -- but my arm would have continued to get worse and worse over the next decade had I not made the decision -- and then I would have reached a time where they would have told me they could NOT fix it. The arm/shoulder, by the way, is doing fine.

I would advise you to research, research, research -- and, if possible, seek another surgeon's opinion. To have a surgeon agree to surgery probably means you have been thru a whole bunch of treatments - and for you to contemplate this surgery, most likely means they have all had a 'whisper of help'. The internet can provide very good information about how the surgery is done, generalizations about recuperation time, etc. Just try to find time to research many sources -- in order to find the best generalization as possible.....Everyone reacts differently to surgery and the recuperation needed, but there's good info out there which may help you make your decision.

I wish you luck with your decision -- and hopefully someone at this fine forum has had the exact surgery you need and can give you some info that will help you make the right choice for your situation.
