Cost of Knee Joint Prothesis

Hi!

I need my knees replaced but before I go ahead with the surgery, since I am on a strict budget, I need to figure out an approximation of my cost portion of the knee joint prosthesis. I've been doing a search on the net but haven't been able to find any pricing. Does anyone have an idea about how much this medical device costs - perhaps from the bill received for it? I called the insurance company but they were no help and neither was the surgeon's office.

I had knee replacement, but really can't provide any information about this. Everything gets wound up together in the billing, and I simply never took time to weed through the billing. I'm sure the costs of the hospitalization and surgery are significantly more than the cost of the prosthesis, though. Your doctor's office should be able to give you a ballpark figure one the whole thing.

I may not have made myself clear. It is the artificial joint (durable medical equipment) portion that I am trying to price. I am figuring out the rest according to my insurance.
