How long does Celebrex take to work / to give side effects?

Hi.
I've read online that Celebrex takes about an hour to start working. It did nothing for me at all for four days, then on the fifth day I really did feel better. Pain intensity went from about a 4 to a 1 during the day and from about a 7 to a 3 at night. However, on about the fifth day I also started to feel slightly nauseous and short of breath and to have a slight sore/scratchy throat. I'm on Day 7 now and feeling the same. Is this the Celebrex or could I be getting legitimately sick? If you take Celebrex, how long did it take to work? When did side effects appear and what were they? Did the side effects go away?

I was prescribed celebrex for OA and AS. I was told that it would take 3 days to 2 weeks to notice any difference as to OA issues, and 6 to 8 weeks to notice any difference with regard to AS issues.

Celebrex inhibits the COX-2 enzyme that causes inflammation and resulting pain in joints. It takes some time for it to reach a consistent level of inhibition of the COX-2 enzyme that your body produces to have any noticeable impact.

People who claim they get instant relief from celebrex are more than likely just experiencing a placebo effect.

However, you should see your doctor about the possible side effects you may be suffering to determine whether it is the drug or some other cause.

I have not had any side effects.
