Avasuclar Necrosis in both hip

Hi,

This is Tamilmani Mohan from india. I was diagnosed avascular Necrosis in both hip from year 2009 on-wards and still i am bachelor.

My question is whether avascular necrosis will affect my marriage life?. Please some one help me. Because i am so confusing to take correct decision now.

I am 30 yrs old , at year 2008 i was suffered from brain fever at that time i took steroid like 0.3 mg or 0.5 mg ( i don't exactly). But some of them suggest it may be affected from by birth. Because mg steroid was not affect the body in most case and also i don't have any plan to do hip replacement now. I want to postponed the replacement.

Is there any way to cure without hip replacement?. If any exercise / diet means, please update to me. I will follow it.

There is no known way to make dead bone re-grow that I know about. You would want to make sure you have sufficient calcium and Vitamin D to protect the good bones. Keeping fit with strong supporting muscles takes stress off on bones so that is good.

If the bone is collapsed, then you will need a hip replacement. There is no way I know of to reverse this without surgery.

Hip replacements give people many, many years of great function and ability. Your wife or future wife would be happier that you have it repaired.

Ides is correct. I had AVN in both hips. My left hip was 80% necrotic and my right hip was 90% necrotic. I was near total collapse 2 days before the scheduled surgery. It is incurable and irreversible. I didn't want to hear that, but it was the truth. My sports medicine doc referred me to an orthopedic surgeon who performed anterior bilateral hip replacement with great success. I was able to return to work 12 weeks after surgery. I would have been able to return earlier, but I park 7 blocks away from my building. Now, at 7 months post-op I am leaving for a new job. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The pain is totally gone. I wish you luck whatever you decide...

I am very grateful! I think due to my age and having both hips replaced at the same time I had it pretty easy. Having both replaced at once, I wasn't concerned about the differing leg lengths, though I know that happens. I quizzed my surgeon and read reviews of his work before I decided to make a decision. Again, I wish all you "15%-ers" good luck. I didn't know the percentage of people who had problems!
