Who else has this terrible hand pain?

Yesterday I had a new thing with my left hand. Awful pain and burning at the bottom of my thumb and my fingers are killing me. This came on suddenly... kind of feels like a pinched nerve. I've tried a lot of things... nothing helping so far.

Is this typical of osteoarthritis? It almost sent me to the e/r because I was afraid it was a symptom of something more serious. My hands do NOT look swollen but my veins are pronounced.

I get this too, ozarker. I plan to ask my rheumy to x-ray my hands and see if I have rheumatoid arthritis as well. My inflammation numbers are within normal range, but my hands ache and hurt so much! I do have OA in them, and have spurs that hurt, but usually that is when I rub them across something or hit them on something.

I do notice that my hands ache more when rainy, cool weather is around. That's what makes me wonder about RA. My husband's grandmother has OA in her hands, and her joints have deteriorated to the point that her thumbs are out of joint, and she can't use them.

Maybe it is typical, I don't know, because I'm fairly newly dx with OA. It's been bothering me for several years, but I just found out what was causing it, so I don't know much about it. All I know is what it has done to Mema. I feel for you.

I've got oa in lots of places, but have just recently started having pain in hands. I'm a knitter and get paid to make samples for yarn companies and can't have my hands going to pot like the rest of me!

Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis are the two most common types of arthritis in the hand.

Have you been checked for Psoriatic arthritis. Also I have Dupuytrens in hands. Had hand surgery to straighten out fingers frozen shut. Then new bio drugs also to open fingers. I wear splints nightly. I take just aspirin or Tylenol. The other meds my rhumey tried called apremalast a bio drug helps with the pain and swelling.

I have a lot of finger and hand pain also.  My pain started July 2014 and has not let up since.  The doctor diagnosed me with Osteoarthritis by looking at my fingers which are going crooked and the nodules I have in them smhair  

Sometimes I get randon shooting pains and just doing regular daily things like washing dishes hurts my fingers.  I recently am getting pain in my wrists also.  I do get weird pain in the tips of my fingers also.

Some days after working on the computer all day, it's worse.  Wondering how long I will be able to work.

From what I have read this is typical with OA.
