Longest lasting hip replacement?

Anyone have any information about the longest lasting hip replacement? Any stories of people having their original hip replacements in for 30 years or so?
A young family member probably has to get one and I'm wondering about the longevity of the modern ones. Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.

Hi Momofthreee, this is a very slow forum. Just a couple of thoughts, has this young family member been evaluated by a orthopedic that specializes in hips only? If not, I would suggest finding one, rather than going with an orthopedic that handles everything. I would also get 2nd & possibly 3rd opinions before doing anything. Your question about longevity should be asked to the dr.

Thanks, Susie. Your ideas are good ones. We will be speaking with an ortho who specializes in hips. And also trying to talk to a couple of different ones. So we’re thinking the same.

I have two hip replacements that are each supposed to last 30 years
