Good Morning and welcome to HealingWell,
I can identify with your issue. I had a work comp injury claim back in 2003 and was being followed by the work comp physician. An MRI was done and a herniated disc was found. I was on medication and everything ran through workmen's comp insurance for several years. My back started to feel better and I retired from work. Since then they have switched work comp Drs. and in 2009 I returned to work comp Dr. with concerns looking for another MRI. The work comp physcian wanted me to go to PT. I asked who would cover this and was told they would submit the info to Work Comp but to get started right away I should use my own private insurance as I would be reimbursed by W.C.
You got it, Work Comp turned down the claim on grounds that to much time had passed since I was last seen by their Doctor and my insurance company turned it down as the info sent by the physician clearly stated that I was seen for a work injury. So I had to pay. However, I never did start the PT as I was afraid this was going to happen.
I did get stuck for a bill for $225.00. I would strongly suggest you return to the WC doctor as long as you feel this is work connected and to make regular visits to this Doctor to keep you claim current.
Best of luck to you,
Kitt
