Prednisone

Does anyone else take prednisone for OA?  I am taking Celebrex daily and prednisone when the inflammation gets out of hand. My ortho thinks I have RA and OA.  If he operates on my knee...depending on the MRI I am having next week...he said he is going to do a biopsy to try and determine if I have seronegative RA. The prednisone really helps me.  Too bad we can't take that drug daily...

Thank you for your response. I do know that Prednisone is too dangersous to take routinely or at high dosages for very long. I was in a level 9 flare last weekend, and I needed it. It brought me back. I really would not want to live if I had to endure the pain I had a week ago. I am thankful for the prednisone, but I hope to not need it as desperately as I did last weekend ever again. I am working w/my doctor to keep the inflammation down so that it does not get out of control. Fingers crossed. :)
