DESPERATE. Im new and in UNBEARABLE pain. Has this happened to you? Please help!

I have Addisons/Fibromyalgia/Cervical spinal stenosis and Dystonia/Gout/total gastrectomy 2005/Pernicious anemia and some arthritis. Had med probs most of adult life. I know those well and can cause many things but this is new. Ive seen sev specialists who have run mris, cscans, dopplers, steroids & inj, xrays...you name it and cant find out whats wrong. 2 mos ago the L hip/leg joint began to hurt with weight on it. Ovr these 2 mos its gotten worse every sgl day. On crutches. Even pain meds & m. relaxers. Cant bear the pain. Mostly w weight on it. Feels sharp & shooting like broken bone but tests say no. Cant work, sleep, eat, cry trying to just get to bathroom or kitchen. Does this sound familiar to anyone???? Any and all thoughts or suggestions so greatly appreciated! I cant stand much more. Please...

Have you ever been on oral steroid medication such as Prednisone for extended periods? These can cause avascular necrosis (osteonecrosis), which is horribly painful.

I am so sorry for your pain.  Judy has given you food for thought and her comment was certainly a stong possibility. .  People who take high doses of corticosteroids, such as prednisone, for long periods of time — for instance, people with chronic illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus — are more likely to experience avascular necrosis.

I understand you have had many test and your history of medical problems goes on and on.  I am sorry for your pain and the frustration of going through so many tests without finding an answer.

As this has been going on for 2 months I would suggest you return to the Dr of your choice and ask if you may have avascular necrosis ?  I am not sure how long ago you had your MRI, CT scan and other testing.  Things can change over a short period of time.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank u both and I will ask Monday when they do the epidural. I also received another possibility in Chronic Pain called FAI... Femoralarterial something... I looked it up and it sounds very similar. I will be sure to ask about both. THANK YOU SO MUCH! HUGGZ

Epi done. Currently temp paralyzed frm waist down for pain relief. Flat of my back. Son has carried me all afternoon. Also saw osteopathis surgeon. Refused hosp admit 2day. More tests Wed @ hosp. Yes, taken oral and inj steroids since 2005 cuz of Addisons Disease, no choice. He thks osteonecrosis. Lots of swelling in lower L back, thk sacral joint ruptured. Maybe they can help. HUGGZ 4 SUPPORT!

And I had an epidural when I delivered him but it didnt work til 10 mins after he was born!

You know what I find really depressing and one of the worst parts of being ill? Bill collectors, hospital n dr copays, meds, rent and having to choose between them. Just shouldnt be that hard.
