Do I have Arthritis?

Hi, I'm getting ready to go in and have an ileostomy. But for the past 3 months my hands and knees and feet are really stiff. During the nite my hands turn stiff in whatever position there in and I can't open or close them. My feet get so stiff its hard to walk. Pleez someone tell me if it could be arthritis? How kind of tests do they do to find out?

Do you have inflammatory bowel disease? Arthritis is very common in thoe with ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. If you have either of those, then it's time for an evaluation by a rheumatologist. I also read some of your other posts and gather that you are over 40. At that age, having osteoarthritis is VERY common in women. Mine started in my hands at 48.
