roaming joint pain

so my flare has turned into joint issues, I have it controled in my gut with asacol, throat I think I have it controlled with pred, and immuran, now it's like it has a brain, go to his joints, he's got the other places covered, it seems to have really settled into my right shoulder, I mean I can barley move it. pain meds help, but not that much. what is good drug for joint pain?

It sounds as if you also have IBD, so NSAID's aren't the answer for you. If you haven't already done so, please do have this evaluated by a good rheumatologist or orthopedist. Prednisone can cause osteonecrosis of the bones, which is excrutiatingly painful and often affects the shoulder. If you have that, you can only expect it to get worse without treatment.

I don't know what pain meds you're taking. I use Tylenol and if that isn't enough, Tramadol. If the pain is still bad, I use heat - heating pad, hot water, etc. I try to never take opiates for chronic pain.

I noted you have Crohn's the same as my hubby.  His Rheumy has him on Methotrexate which covers his Crohn's arthritis, osteo and his Crohn's Disease.

Once a week he gets an injection of Methotrexate - today is the day I get to stick it to him.  NSAID's are not an option for him either.
