I am 55 years old, work full time and have been told by a orthopedic surgeon that I will be needing both hips replaced. They will do the surgeries 3 months apart the first one will be scheduled after the first of the year. I would like to know how anyone reading this, that has had hip replacement surgery, is after surgery. What kind of limitations do you have to live with? Do you have a huge range of hip movement after the surgery. Now I have trouble putting on socks and going up stairs and am in constant pain.

I am a 45 (almost 46) also closing on my 2 year anniversary of a total hip replacement. It looked like it could be done LP Surgery. Long story short, It was anything but LP surgery but I will take the big scare over the pain any day.

Cocsmoke, thanks for the reply
Did you have one or both hips replaced? What kind of pain did you have and after surgery was it entirely gone?
