Two thumb joint surgeries still in pain

I had thumb joint replacement in June 2011 and a revision in August 2012. about 4-6 weeks ago the thumb joint started giving more pain then before the surgeries. I am going to see another doctor in June but I am hoping that someone could give me a little insight of what the doctor might tell me.

I am wondering how long you had physical therapy after your surgery, also what kind of revision did you have in August of 2012? I am truly sorry to read of your pain.

I know of one person that was doing just fine 3 months after surgery and somebody else who had this surgery and is still pain free after 12 years. The general rule of thumb ( no pun intended) is 6-12 months for healing from this surgery.

I wish I could tell you what a new physician may say but I really don't know. Stay strong and please know I support you.

I have heard that the next joint up from the cmc joint of the thumb can start having problems after surgery on the cmc joint/basal arthroplasty/and LRTI. Hope this is helpful, let us know what the doctor said.
