Hi, and welcome to the group. I take meloxicam (Mobic) daily. If that doesn't keep the bad pain away, I take Tylenol arthritis formula. If I still have severe pain, I then take Tramadol. Some days I don't take the tramadol at all, some I'll take it up to three times. My pain is very weather-sensitive, so in rainy or stormy weather I will feel worse.
Neck pain often stems from what we are doing. Using a computer, for instance, often puts people in a position that can lead to more neck pain. A good physical therapist can teach you stretches and activities to relieve this. A good muscle relaxer can prevent the stiffness and immobility from spreading.
I also find non-weight bearing exercise and resistance training helpful in relieving my pain. I work out three days a week, adjusting my workout to my level of pain that day. Stretching muscles and joints gently is good; putting stress on joints is not.
