Hi all, as you can see from my signature, I have had to have a total colectomy, and have several other issues as well.
Today was my first rheumatologist appointment and I was VERY disappointed.
I was sent to him for a definative fibromyalgia diagnosis..or rather I was sent there to rule out everything else under the sun..to get a proper diagnosis..
The one thing he told me was that he felt the joint swelling, inability to use fingers effectively, can't hold anything with any weight to it, can't walk some days..and if I have sat for too long (over and hour), my hips lock for about
20 minutes... was all oseo related, not rheumatoid. Ok, that I can deal with..BUT then he says "And there are no treatments for it, you just have to deal"
So NOT HAPPY with him. Up until now, I have tried heat (as ice is painful), anti-inflammatories, and some muscle relaxers. They relieve some pain, and I can' actually move my fingers a bit more.
But was soo frustrated to hear him say there was nothing to do but learn to live with it..So, tomorrow I start the search for a real doctor..lol
But any advice you can offer, I would REALLY appreciate!!
Thanks, can't wait to see what I can learn from you guys..
