Hello all! I have posted a couple of times here before on behalf of my Mom who suffers from osteoarthritis and I am in need of your advice please. She is 81 and recently has had a great deal of pain in her knees so much so that she fell twice. We requested her primary physician refer her to a specialist but after 3 weeks of waiting on an appointment I took matters in my own hands and found her another doctor who is an orthopedic surgeon. He ordered an xray and gave her an injection in the knee and it has really helped. She is far from back to normal but she is getting around with the help of a walker and able to go with me to do a little shopping and to church. She goes back to this dr. on Dec. 9th. The physician we had hoped to see first has now sent us paperwork to complete and has set an appointment for mid December. This physician is a Rrheumatologist. My question is should be see the Rheumatologist or continue to see the orthopedist? Will Medicare cover the cost of both doctors if we choose to see both? Any info/suggestions will be greatly appreciated! TIA! Vicki
