New Member Intro

Hello forum mates! Kurlyjoe here from Bucks County PA.

Our Moderator prefers some brief intro for new members and I agere, so here goes: 52 yo physically fit (soccer and running) until 6 years ago. Long story short, I had a THR on 12/17/13 and am recovering fairly well except for lateral, same side knee pain. This forum has helped me self- diagnose an underlying IT Band issue.

I hope to gain insight as I fight my battle back to functionality as well as share my experiences with those who have travelled and will travel the same path.

Hello Kurlyjoe, hi to everyone, I'm a new member, too.

I'm here because of my Dad. He's 64, loves skiing, surfing and hiking. Well, he loved until OA appeared in his life in the form of unbearable pain in his left knee. He hasn't got any joint replacement surgery yet. He's very pessimistic and believes that his condition is irreversible (doctors told him that). Unfortunately, my family's had so many negative experiences with doctors that I've learnt to be sceptical about everything they say. So now I'm looking for alternative solutions others than drugs or surgery. Hope someone can help me.
