I am 64 y.o. Female diagnosed with bursitis in the hip. In 2012 fusions in lumbar 4 and 5 and 5 and 6. 6 mos. later I was diagnosed with bursitis. It is now 15 mos. later and I have had 4 hip injections and one in the SI joint. None of the steroid injections have helped.
Hip MRI shows inflammation...nothing major. Back MRI shows issues with bulging disc, narrowing of spinal canal...all issues referred to as moderate, but my GP recommended I see doctor (board certified neurologist because of MRI findings.
Neuro man who did back surgery said he saw nothing in back MRI that would justify the tenderness and constant pain in the hip area. He gave me an injection. No help. He did mention I might need cat scan of back for better view.
Have any of you been diagnoses with bursitis only to find out that the pain was low back related.
