Possible Oseteoarthritis

Howdy folks, new to the site. Looking forward to participating in the discussions.

I have had a multitude of health issues, but the one that is driving me nuts at this time is the pain in the front of my left thigh and left knee. If i am on my feet for any length of time and then sit down for a few minutes, when i stand back up, i can barely walk because of the severe pain in my thigh and knee. Also when i am in bed at night and move my leg while sleeping i get a terrible pain in my knee that wakes me up. The pain eventually subsides, but the length of time it takes to do that is getting longer. I asked my doc on my last visit about the pain and he told me that to find out what was causing this would be very expensive without insurance, which i do not have at this time. I was kind of surprised that he didn't show much concern or offer an opinion. Could this be osteoarthritis? Any opinions what it might be if not osteo? Thanks for any help.
