Recovering from THR revision

All went well as could be with my hip revision.It's a painful surgery no matter how brave think u r. The second time this same hip has been done in two years.

Had a great doc rehab is going well and just stating to walk without a walker.

The only issue is sleeping on my back with a v shape pillow between my legs for the bone to heal in the new prothesis.

But generally I'm doing well with lots of help. My Border Collie puppy is so cute we just got her from a friend from a rescue center. She makes me laugh and is so sweet. Nothing like a loving pet to help us thru some tough times .

Anyone else had THR. Both mine are done due to OA. I severe OA in all my joints.

I would like a new knee for Christmas. Unusual I know but maybe later.

want to get thru this new hip replacement resolved first. Revisions r very painful compared to regular THR. ANYONE HAD A REVISION?

TKR sounds really tough. When the cartilage goes it's the only option. Or constant debilitating pain. Or a bad tear? Joints wear out.i wish I was a lot more aware of that growing up. As a lot does run in families.

Hope u have a good surgeon and all goes well. Winter is a good time to have it done so UR up & running by June/ July.summer is the best rehab, warm weather and family trips.

They custom make knee joints now the sizes are sent to the manufacturer & made to order and it's not the old one size fits all.

I don't know UR age but stay as active as u can to stay in shape for knee surgery and a faster recovery. Core muscles need to stay tight too.
That's my docs advice on hips.

I see u have sleep apnea.. Do u use a cap for sleeping?

I am also sorry to hear of UR glaucoma,do u use drops energy day? What does ur doc recommend?

Along with lupus and the other illnesses' a knee replacement can be more stress than u need. When it rains it pours. I'm sorry u have so much to cope with and I pray u have a lot of support.
U have it here. I'm here a lot but not always with much to say.
