I am an active 61 year old who needs lrti. I teach but do a lot of construction work on the side, along with chain saw operating, wood cutting and hauling. My right thumb gets a work out. Will I still be able to do these things once the recovery period is over or will the surgery preclude me from such activities? The surgeon called this a surgery for elderly who won't do much with the thumb, but I need relief from the pain and hope to at least do most of what I do now...too early for the rocking chair!
