Dupuytren’s is in both my hands. I had surgery and it actually made the finger worse. The scar was very thick and painful. A few months later had xiaflex injection . Two weeks later appt to straighten three fingers. And the scar tissue was also dissolved. Scar tissue and the tissue that causes thickened cords and nodes in palms is made up of collagen. Xiaflex is Collagenase clostridium histolyticum is an enzyme produced by the bacterium Clostridium histolyticum that dismantles collagen. It is used as a powder-and-solvent injection kit for the treatment of Dupuytren's contracture, a condition where the fingers bend towards the palm and cannot be fully straightened.
