OA is the most common form arthritis that affects millions of people, wear & tear & it's part of the aging process too. Even an injury from many years ago can trigger OA. Some folks can get it at a early age.
It tends affect the spine, hands, knees & feet more frequently. What are you trying OTC to relieve some of your symptoms? Now a days we have so many OTC options from analgesics to things like Salon Pas as an example that has a little bit of lidocaine to help ease the pain. Have you tried moist heat? We have to keep moving our joints as much as we can.
December sounds like a long wait to see your dr. is this your pcp? In the meantime I would try some OTC things until you get in with your dr. Voltaren topical gel is a good prescription medication. Your dr can do some xrays to see what is going on. I hope you can get some relief.
