hi all,
Basically, il try and keep it swift. Recently ive been battling with an itchy, red, scaly rash on my forehead above my eyebrows that regularly spreads to my upper back, eyelids and behind my ears. Initially my doctor said i had a contact allergy, but no matter what what products i do/dont use the symptoms seem to re-occur every couple of days. He basically prescribed hydrocortisone, which i use to relieve flare-ups and does the trick almost instantly. If i stop using it however, it all comes back.
After extensive research and a admission from my doctor that it may not be an allergy afterall- I suspect it could be seborrheic dermatitis. Ive no right to self-diagnose, and my equally confused doctor has referred me to a dermatologist in an attempt to get a concrete diagnosis.
I just wondered if this sounds familiar to anyone??? Plus can anyone recommend some good self-care measures for a dermatitis like this one?
I live in the U.K, so any over-the counter shampoos/cream recommendations would be great to see me through the 4 weeks i have to wait to see the specialist.
Thanks for your help,
Tom.
