Hi Des, I too use symbicort and it has done wonders for my asthma. I now can breathe freely. I also have a rescue albuterol inhaler if I should get a sudden attack. Keep in mind symbicort is a long term use inhaler and may not work for sudden asthma attacks which is why I also keep the albuterol. Also, once you open the symbicort package and remove the inhaler from the foil it is only good for 3 months from the date you open the foil. So if you have 2 going you are likely to have to discard one after the 3 months. Be sure to read all the directions that come in the package. Also, you have to keep the symbicort inhaler in an upright position at all times. All info I got from my pulmonologist. I hope this will help you in your use. The inhalers can be expensive even with a copay from insurance. My dosage use is 2 puffs in the morning and 1 puff at night. Tha maximun dose is 4 puffs a day, divided between morning and evening. Symbicort has a great website you can go to to get further info and there are very nice people there is you want to call their toll free number.
