Skin flush due to allergies

9 months ago my skin broke out in rash. Have no idea why. Just red, didnt itch. All over body. Since then, bumps went away but REALLY slow. Dermatologist said dermatitis. However, now i still get blotchy red rash where the spots once were. If i sweat or get hot, they appear alot more. Almost like its heat rash/pinkish/reddish. The inside of my arms are perfect. Just outside where the red bumps were. I also flush really bad in heat and eyes are red. Coudl this still be allergic reaction in body. You think it would go away if it were something else but its blotchy where the bumps were. I dont have rosacea and dermatologist couldnt find anything wish skin. Said maybe hormones. Who knows. i also wore a wife beater for halloween. The next day, my skin was red on upper chest and prickly hot. IT HURT!!! Its better now but still red and gets worse if i drink a beer. Eyes are red every morning and worse throughout the day. Could this at all be allergy related or something else.

 t could be contact dermatitis, and that is common.  Do you have other conditions such as asthma or hayfever?  Have you changed you soap or detergent lately?  Yes it could mean that you are allergic to something.  I would recommend that you see an allergist to determine what it is that you may have come in contact with. cool

Use soaps that are hypo allerg. No asthma. When i was younger, i was on allergy shots for years. Just the symptoms i have such as flushing in heat, intolerance of heat, makes me feel prickly, etc.....and seems like i get a sunburn. More like rosacea but docs insist i dont have that. So next thing would be allergies...you think or hormones? Also my eyes stay red almost all the time. I wake up with red eyes. Could be allergies but eyes dont itch at all.....

Shane, what you are describing sounds like Prickly Heat Rash. Prickly heat is where the sweat glands get blocked which is why these bumps get worse when you sweat. Here is a site you can visit that may be of use to you.

Regarding the red eyes - once again, I believe you are having a rebound effect from the eye drops you are using.

you think the red eyes will diminsh with time. I dont get raised bumps, just patchy red on outside arms and upper chest,. Worse when i sweat as EYES are worse when i sweat. What can i do about that. Would rebound redness get worse if i excerise. Seems that way for some reason? Where my bumps use to be is where the patchy, not raised, rash is. ALlergies???

I did read that. Sounds a whole lot of what i might have. If my skin gets hot, my arms NEVER sweat ever. Neither do my legs. The weird thing is my back never had any skin problems ever. I know there is something i am doing or can do. What cream can I put on my arms to hopefully get these red patches away. Like you said, when there is heat, my arms get rashy and red on the outside only. I also shave my arms so please tell me what i can do. MY legs also are somehwat rashy on front when i sweat. I cant get a good tan on arms and legs either. IS that because it gets so hot and turns reddish. Dont know.

also this is just on the outside of my arms. Not inside of arms because there never was any rash or anything there. I just need to restore pigment and skin to the outside of my arms and front of legs mainly. When hot, it does get worse. I think that might be due to the heat and not sweating but it only gets blotchy in those places. I was also left with scar on upper arm where bump was, etc...??

The problem with vasoconstrictor eye drops is that the more you use it, the more you are going to need it to relieve the redness. How often do you use the drops? If you use them often what if you were to try to wean off them slowly? By weaning off them slowly, you are giving your eyes a chance to recover and hopefully the redness will go away. If the redness doesn't go away then it can be a sign of something else. But doctors will not know how to properly treat it while you are using the eye drops because it is masking a possible problem. Do you ever have any discharge from your eyes?

Regarding the rash, if the prickly heat rash is what you have, you need to bring this possibility up to the docs so they can help you. Doctors are only human and they follow what the patient believes to be a problem. Of course they are supposed to look at the whole picture but if you go in to see the doctor with multiple problems, some other issues can get overlooked. lol Yeah, that has happened to me :) But by what you said regarding never sweating on your arms, the clogged sweat glands make sense.

I do in the morning. I have discharge. Other than that, not that much. The rash on my chest isnt prickly heat anymore. It just redder than other skin and just sits on my upper chest. My neck is also very senstivei and turns red when you touch it. All this could be hormones and imbalance in testosterone/estrogen. i am looking into that now.
