Okay where do I begin?!! I've been on edge suffering with no sleep and in the er everyday for a month!!!
I am only 19 years old! And was totally normal up until 3 weeks ago.I go hour by hour feeling different ever hour. I even had to stay at my moms house and kept switching from my house to my brother house just to feel a sense of relief. I'm afraid of smells and dust and going out side. I feel like no where is safe and that im gonna get an asthma attack. But every time I call 911 they said my o2 levels were 100% and my heart race was fast because of panic. And I never wheeze. Not all asthmatics are wheezers tho. But when I get these attacks I really feel like breaths are not going in and I get really dizzy and fall down.
Doctors are a nightmare! Every time I go to the er they tell me my vitals are perfect but they give me steroids in my iv and nebulizer treatments anyway. I was doing so many inhalers and treatments everyday that I think it made me sicker my chest felt like an elephant was sitting on it. But I weened myself off so many medications and felt way better when it comes to the tightness in my chest. I even went to a pulmonologist and it was a nightmare!!!!! The nurse came in the room with strong perfume and caused me to have an episode the doctor came in for 3 minutes and right away starting writing 15 different prescript
ions for more meds!!! I already got allergic reactions to 2 inhalers they gave me... Advent and azmacort. That put me back in the hospital. I'm scared to take the meds but supposedly I need them.
Just today I woke up from my moms couch ( this is the only way I feel safe is if I stay on her couch) and I felt shortness of breath and tightness in my chest went outside did my albuterol inhaler I was 2 seconds away from calling 911 (again) and said screw it if I die I die! But then 1 minute later I felt totally normal again. When I calmed down. I want your advice is it asthma or anxiety?

I'm sorry you feel so unsafe.
I know how you are feeling because I've been been there the last few months with angioedema and literally having my epipen beside me at all times. I've also felt short of breath and wondering if 'this is it' then feeling so tired of worrying I've said 'ok if I die I die' because I'm so over this constant threat 24/7.
But I believe what you are feeling is intense anxiety, which by the way, is totally understandable.
You can learn to calm down and reduce the anxiety by concentrating on slowing your breathing down. On the in breath count in your mind 1 2 3 then slowly breath out 1 2 3. Do this on the hour for 5 mins or as much as you can throughout the day.
If you are breathing too rapidly, which we tend to do when we are stressed, you are hyperventilating which can cause a feeling of breathlessness, tightness in your chest, tingling lips and hands etc.
You should be able to feel in control and safe in your world.
