Uticarial Vasculitis

Well good news, they now know what type of hives I have. They're not just normal hives. They are what is called uticarial vasculitis. This is what they got from doing a biopsy. Today she took 11 tubes of blood and is testing for every autoimmune disease known to mankind, and I also now get to go see an optimologist as well as a rheumatologist to find out more about the autoimmune system and why my body is doing this. Does anyone else have this type of hives? It would be great if you could tell me more about them. Since my immunologist changed my meds around they have been doing better, more livable, but I still have some. What does anyone know about this problem?? Thank you all for your support!!! God Bless.

Thank you Red 34, yest it is nice to have a name. And although I was starting to do better with the meds, today I have welts again. I really believe this has to do with an allergic reaction to my husbands Humira. I was doing some research on urticarial vasculitis and it can be caused from an allergic reaction. Thank you though, and yes, it's not great. Not something I would wish on my worst enemy. :) God Bless.

Yes, mine leave bruises. They're red, raised, itch, painful, and they leave bruises. They last for like 24-48 hours too, sometimes longer. And I went to the doctor today because I'm covered in them. I was doing really well and didn't have any for like 5 days, and then I slept with my husband (who is on a new drug called Humira), and now I'm covered. So they believe I'm having an allergic reaction to his medication. I would actually be the first person to ever have this happen, but this all started for me when he started the new drug. So we'll see..had more tests done today, and I see the rheumatologist (spelling?) at the end of this month. They put me back on steroids again, did more lab work and a chest xray today so we'll see...I'll keep you posted! :)
