Hives when Ovulating

Hi, I have been having problems with Hives for almost 3 years. I had them about 10 years ago but they mysteriously went away. I thought that this would happen now, but there has been no relief. I did go to an allergist, who did the skin scratch tests and we determined that I was allergic to dust mites and oak trees. He didn’t think that those were factors causing hives so he put me on a regimen of Zyrtec, Claritin and singular and told me to stay on it and we could put my hives into remission so to speak. Well this worked however now about a year later I’m breaking out in hives like crazy and I find when I’m having horrible break outs is when I’m ovulating. I can go a week or two with no crazy then boom as soon as I start ovulating I break out and they are hard to control with Claritin 24. I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered this and if so what treatment options did you try.

Hormones are funny things. After I had my 2nd baby, once my menstrual cycle started up again, my tongue swelled up every time my period started. It was brutal and took a long time before the symptoms stopped.

Have you considered taking birth control pills? The primary function of those is to stop you from ovulating.
