Has anyone used a Himalayan salt inhaler to reduce excessive phlegm and what have been the results? I have read several postings on excessive phlegm, but have not ready any on using this inhaler. I am tired of coughing and spitting the morning away before I can feel comfortable enough to leave home and would like to use something that eliminates mucus. Thank you.

Do you have GERD? Acid reflux can cause lots of phlegm in the throat, too.

No I've tried Himalayan salt inhaler.

I don't think that I have gastric reflux; however, I will not count it out completely. Would still like to hear from anyone who has tried the Himalyan salt inhaler. Thank you.

It looks like a waste of fifty bucks. And I don't care for lots of things touted by Oz and Opra. Pink salt is no big deal. It just has a few minerals for color.

It's not expensive at all to just buy the aerosol saline sprays. They clean out the sinuses nicely.

If you have excessive phlegm see a real doctor and find out if you have a sinus infection. These infections, by the way, are often not cured with a single round of antibiotic. It's common to need a second round. I just got through with this. Had a headache for a year, no single treatment got rid of it.

GERD, as Joy said, is another good possibility your doctor can diagnose.
