Chronic hives for 6 years

My boyfriend has been having chronic hives for 6 years,It all started when we lived in a apt complex and there was mold present. They have landed him in the ER many times, he was prescribed many different meds including predizone (sp) in which he is allergic to. The allergist has done a bunch of testing and no answers. Any clues as to why and could they exposure to the mold still be present in his body to have caused this?

Are you still in the apartment?
Mold is everywhere there is moisture. It can even get in the walls of the bathroom or kitchen.
It could of been a trigger for him to develop sensitivity to any amount.

No we have been away from the apt for 5 years thats what has us boggled.

sorry, i dont have an answer, but ive also been struggling with chronic hives this summer. they started at the end of the school year and keep showing up in the same places. could I have developed an allergy or intolerance or something? my eating/sleeping habits haven't changed. they could also be from stress/anxiety because i started to get really busy and depressed at the end of the year.
