Chest Pain and Astma.

I was diagnosed with Asthma a year and a half ago. Before I was diagnosed I was suffering from chest tightness, shortness of breath, and chest pain; near my heart. Due to chest pain doctors were concerned about heart condition so I was tested for that; nothing. A week later it was determined I had asthma so I've been using Ventolin ever since. My symptoms have been significally improved but now the chest pain and discomfort  has returned and I'm getting really nervous/scared. It's usually just discomfort and rarely pain but it's occuring near or at my heart. I was wondering if asthma can cause some stress on the heart or is it still possible my lungs are the source of the pain. What's is really scaring me is my heart begins to pound against my chest especially after an activity. If anyone knows what this might be PLEASE SHARE.

If this continues for another week Im going back to the doctor.

I hope you get some answers to your post because that does not sound pleasant at all! Did you feel your heart pound before or after you started Ventolin? Since I started Ventolin these symptoms haven't  occured. I'm still on Ventolin and the symptoms are starting to occur now; after 16 months on Ventolin. I do have a few cold symptoms but I'm sure if that would cause the chest discomfort and heart pounding.
