Can allergy trigger sinus infection?

Have you ever had allergy testing? If your sinus scan came out clean then more than likely, it's allergy related. Do you use any otc nasal sprays?

Hi and sorry to hear of your difficulties. A huge amount of the population suffers from sinus infections which are often chronic. You can learn about the different medical and "alternative" views of Sinusitis by just Googling the topics. It just makes sense that with all the fluids produced by allergy that the sinuses become an enviroment ripe for infection...so yes...allergies go hand in hand with sinus infections. You need proper medical intervention now. Statistically these things become chronic. Sometimes one of the newer nasal sprays like Astepro or Flonase is all that is needed to interupt this cycle and let you heal up. Be patient and work with your doctor to get better. Use the most gentle solutions first. Steamy showers often help.

I have been down the road with allergies and sinus infection many times. I used to be addicted to the nasal spray "Afrin" and it is really just for short term use for a few days or to open the Eustschian tube if you have to fly. Afrin was actualy developed during wartime to help the Airforce men keep their sinuses draining so they could fly and not loose balance. Travel by air with a sinus infection is not good...the altitude and barometric change can make it much worse.
