So I'm going to the asthma doctor on Thursday for a followup. (Btw, this is my first post on here...) I'm gonna have to talk to him about how I've had this asthma attack that didn't really end for 4 hours (loooong and boring 4 hours). Is he gonna prescribe anything? Is he gonna do any tests? What could he do? Any response to help ease my anxiety about this would be nice :D

I don't really have answers for you, but I hope you will let us know how your appointment goes.

Didn't your doc prescribe anything or do any tests the first visit? Hopefully he will do more in this followup if he didn't already. Was he waiting for blood work results to come back?

I went 2 years ago. He usually has his patients do a 2 year follow up. And I suppose that would be the time to go ahead and tell him what has been going on... I've been on Proventil (Inhaler) and Singulair for 2 years. Both have worked until that one time I couldn't get out of it. It wasn't bad. I was just tight in the chest (which got really annoying)

But yes, he did do tests 2 years ago. He did the pulmonary function test (spirometry test) and a TON of allergy testing (since he is an allergist as well).

There are preventive asthmatic medications and medications for asthmatic attacks...
