Dust allergies bad right now - feel sick sometimes :(

I'd suggest using a mask in dusty situations. You can buy them in most hardware stores or drugstores, and they're not that expensive. They can help keep dust and pollen out of your nasal passages, which could help if part of your problem is simply irritation from the particles.

You also might try using a Neti pot to wash your nose out with sterile saline. That can help a lot.

Since many antihistamines take some time to be fully effective, you could also take them every day during your allergy seasons, rather than waiting until you experience symptoms.

My furnace is a heat pump, so I can have the indoor unit run on low fan 24/7. I use the 4 inch filters, expensive, but no dusting! Very little, anyway.

For dusting I use the fluffy wands that grab the dust instead of letting it gtin the air.

I use Mucinex 12 hour (available OTC as generic) at night. It clears the sinuses and lungs by making the mucus thin so the cilia in the lungs can move it and the sinuses can drain faster. It's not an antihistamine.

I like saline squirt bottles, the big ones, for washing sinuses. Make sure to use only distilled or boiled water. (Brain-eating ameba has been found in tap water.)
