I recently purchased Sibu skincare for my face and had a horrible reaction. I already have sensitive skin, so I purchased it thinking it would be safe. The very next day my eyes, cheeks and lips were swollen and had a painful rash. Mostly the skin in my eye lid was rashy. I am very confused about what happened and why my face would react like this. I mean, if this is all natural, what is safe for me to use. I also have a bad cold going on at the same time, could that have anything to do with my allergy? Thanks for any help.

It probably had a substance in it that you already have an allergy to. Since many all natural products have a lot of different plant-based products, it could be about anything. My daughter has so many allergies and all natural products can be as big a problem as anything. Does it have an ingredient list that you can check. We never buy anything that isn't forthcoming as it could be deadly for her.

Hopefully you can figure out what particular thing is the culprit. I would take it back or call the company and ask for a refund.

It was a free sample for the natural foods store. I went online to try and find the ingredients, but all I found was a review from someone saying that the reaction could have been from my daughter to washing her hands before using it. Apparently since she was sick she may have introduced germs into her bloodstream after exfoliating... I don't know.

I've had my worst experiences with "all natural" laundry detergents. Natural doesn't mean hypoallergenic. There are some very harsh chemicals that are natural.

The company does list the ingredients in its products on their website. Go to "products" and "view details." Alcohols and preservatives included in skin products.

Ugh! Thanks very much for looking at that. So you think she may have actually have been allergic to some of the ingredients... It's so hard knowing what is safe nowadays.

Whether or not you have sensitive or allergy-prone skin, chances are that you've had a reaction to a skin-care product or cosmetic somewhere on your face or body.

Once the skin irritation shows up, apply the cortisone cream over the affected area for several days, even after everything seems back to normal. Remember that the skin can hold on to a sensitizing or allergic reaction for a long period of time.

One of my pet peeves is when someone learns that I have allergies, they offer "all natural" products.
Other than mineral oil (baby oil), it is the natural part that I would be allergic to. Shea butter, almond butter, walnut oil...
Same goes with my granddaughter. We look for artificial fragrance and flavors for her because the real "all natural" ingredients could make her very sick, either on the inside or the outside.

I just went to the site for Sibu and the products contain potential allergens. I am either allergic myself or know people who are allergic to these additives in the products. Shea butter, apricot seed, soybean oil, palm oil, olive oil, and citrus oils.

Then I looked at the dietary supplement. I am allergic to banana, my granddaughter is allergic to mango, and another granddaughter is allergic to grape juice.
