What sort of doctor did you see?
It could just be an anxiety attack by the way you describe it - something irritating your throat and then a panic. Was your heart reaction first and then you panicked, or did you panic after you felt the heart beating fast?
It could be an allergic or sensitivity reaction. Were you eating something at the time or just before it happened?
I get tachycardia when I eat things that irritate my stomach and esophagus. Just about everything is connected by the vagus nerve. My particular sensitivity reaction is to sulfites. You can look up the foods that trigger sulfite food allergy reactions. Not that you have the same allergy! There are tons of things that trigger these reactions.
My allergist had me keep a food journal - time, food, drinks, medicines, and any reactions, especially within a half hour to 2 hours. Some people get headache reactions to things they ate 2 days ago. I got a bad tachycardia reaction to a puff from an albuterol inhaler 8 hours later, that put me in the hospital.
Of course we don't know! We're not doctors. You might want to see an allergist.
Let us know how this turns out.
